I paid $1500 to have Mr. Wilkie represent me for a DV case. I was told one thing and got another. I made it very clear to Mr Wilkie that I don’t want my second amendment rights to be affected. This would be the only way I would sign the order. Since there were no findings and no evidence, the prosecutor agreed. A few months later, I go to purchase a firearm and I get denied. I ended up going to the courthouse. The Court Clerk told me that Mr. Wilkie didn’t know the law and that If there is an order of protection, it is an automatic revocation of your second amendment rights. After numerous phone calls, talking to the FBI and the courts this is what I found out. In order to correct this, Mr. Wilkie wants $2000 more and there is no guarantee that my rights would be restored. After going back and for talking to his paralegals, I said $2000 is way too much to fix a mistake that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. My emails and phone calls were rarely getting returned. Wasn’t even able to talk to him directly. I would’ve been better off going to court by myself myself

Being as young as I am, I would have never expected to be in a legal bind the way I did. I came to The Wilkie Law Group with low expectations. I was fighting an uphill battle in court, was in debt, and was recently evicted. I had never been involved in any legal matters before in my life and I was extremely nervous. Mr. Wilkie and his associates were extremely helpful during this time.
