I will definitely recommend to anyone in a similar situation to myself. Unfortunately I was up against a tight deadline by the time I found Wanta Thome and so they couldn’t help me in the end, but if I had found them sooner it would have been a different story. After being turned away from 50+ law firms and attorneys and the MN Lawyer referral service with little to no explanation over months I was frustrated and increasingly hopeless, not knowing if I just had a bad case, or if everyone was too busy, or if it was because my employer is so big, or what the deal was... Wanta Thome was one of the few places that gave me anything more than a pre-written response and the ONLY place where I got to speak with an attorney myself. To be completely honest, I was not confident when I got off the phone with the intake staff that they understood my issue, so I wasn’t holding my breath. But when Taylor Volkman called me back, I barely had to explain anything—proving my initial concerns wrong. If you are reading this and you are tired of being sent back to the NELA list, or if you are just starting to look for an employment lawyer, save yourself the trouble and contact Wanta Thome first. Even though my case didn’t make it past the consultation due to the tight timeline, it was good experience and I’m sure that level of care and professionalism would have carried over into the next phases. Hopefully I never have another reason to seek out an employment attorney, but if I do they will be at the top of my list.
