I began working with Mr. Matthews around October 2022. During his representation, communication was minimal. His assistant frequently contacted me, stating she was unable to obtain my medical records. Last month, she informed me that I would need to contact the local hospital myself to get the records, as she was experiencing difficulties. I assume she eventually obtained them, as the defendant provided a settlement offer. Mr. Matthews did not clearly explain what to expect and pressured me to accept an offer, claiming it was the maximum amount possible for this case. Yesterday, he called to ask how much I was willing to accept. As my attorney, I expected him to advocate for the best outcome for his client. I told him I needed to call him back. When I tried calling, there was no answer, so I emailed him the amount I was considering. Instead of explaining that the lawsuit was filed in a district with a specific limit, he withdrew from the case and then told me the maximum amount I could receive, stating that my request was unrealistic. Had he communicated this from the beginning, I would have understood the limitations. There was a clear communication barrier, and he should be more considerate of his clients' needs.

He accepted my case and had it for about and year meet with me once. I had been talking to Jessica that worked with him and she was persistent with getting things done. I received and email yesterday saying he no longer wants my case
