Truly, words cannot describe the remorse and regret we have for retaining Kelly Bennett (now Sapere Law but formerly known as Bennett & Bennett Law). There is a lot to unpack here and a lot to say, but I'll keep the details truncated since no one wants to read a novel about this dysfunctional situation. We found Kelly Bennett's representation of us to be extremely incompetent, her demeanor to be erratic and aggressive and her communication inconsistent. We were sued for $14,000 in a small, real estate dispute. Kelly Bennett filed a $150,000 countersuit against the Plaintiffs for no legitimate reason, which bumped the case up from a limited case and kept it going in the courts for over 2 years. Lawyers that we spoke with after we cut ties with her were very perplexed as to why she would do that and said it was very detrimental advice. She billed us multiple times to have different attorneys at her firm "learn" our case. In our experience, there was a revolving door of staff members at Bennett & Bennett. She continued billing us after we parted ways and even billed us to prepare the bill! We learned the hard way what it was like to deal with Kelly Bennett, do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake. It's attorney who operate like her that give the profession such a bad reputation.
