Unfortunately we have had bad experiences with lawyers and this was not the exception. Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist who upon conversation asked if she spoke Spanish, to which her response was “youu speak perfect English so.. “ and my answer was well he (my husband and client doesn’t) then she proceeded to speak English to him and having me translate. Mind you she is Hispanic just like us. Our appointment was at 930. The lawyer arrived 5 minutes late which is okay, but then proceeded to go into the receptionist main office and chat for 20 more minutes. Time is money and we were respectful of his time but he didn’t care about ours. After finally going in and proceeding with the initial case interview, he wanted to charge us 2k to go to court and initial payment, with a total of 7k for our case. When I mentioned this to a different lawyer they laughed and said what a shame. I would take detail in presentation into consideration and maybe being a little more nicer and respecting people’s time. If we had arrived 25 minutes late I guarantee we would’ve been turned away. Also we paid 150 for an hour and only got about 35-40 mins of the consult.
