By Darren Chaker - client of Procopio Cory: San Diego firms are known for being rather passive, which is common in small legal markets. In a recent matter, in lieu of getting another LA firm to represent me, I hired Procopio Cory who litigated the issue in a very articulate and persuasive manner. I recently attended a client conference and am pleased to see the world is opening back up after COVID-19.

By Darren Chaker - Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch is a top firm, not only for the San Diego area, but a top firm in general. I have been represented by them and can attest they not only have a beautiful main office in downtown San Diego, but also have a great pool of tenacious attorneys. I typically retain Los Angeles firms, but will say Procopio is the one San Diego firm I would turn to if needed again as they are certainly not a passive law firm.

David Zachry successfully represented me in what is now a landmark post-divorce litigation case (with an 11 day trial) between 2017 and 2019. In brief, my ex-wife sought (and failed) to undo our divorce agreement based on fabricated claims that it was based on fraud and duress. Many millions of dollars were at stake and many millions of dollars were spent defending against the baseless claims. Of all of the numerous attorneys that I met with (a dozen or more represented me between 2016 to present), David stands out as the only one that could effectively present my position at trial. I would not be surprised if at some point, he is considered the premiere family law attorney for the entire state of California or to be among the few best in the country. David billed ethically, reviewed every word of every page of the thousands of documents that were created through an exhaustive discovery process by my ex-wife’s legal team, and presented cogent and persuasive arguments at trial. In a memorable twenty minute closing argument which the presiding judge seemed to enjoy immensely, he equated my ex-wife’s attempts to overturn our divorce agreement to the scene in the movie A Few Good Men where Colonel Jessup was lying and trying to orchestrate a fraud on the court. Since 2019 when we parted ways, I went on to win a 6 figure judgment against my ex-wife with another attorney whom was recommended by David to finish off the details.

If you care about your patent don't take it here. I had a very expensive, stressful, and lengthy process with Stephen B. that ultimately lead to burning thousands of dollars and years of effort with nothing to show for it... Go somewhere that sees you as a real client they care about and not just a number in the pipeline. Search elsewhere & ask around before taking your business here!
