I regret not conducting more thorough due diligence before engaging this firm. The reviews were accurate, and my experience reflected many of the concerns previously expressed. I scheduled a one-hour consultation for a fee of $200 to discuss the legal complexities surrounding an international divorce involving the U.S. (Washington, D.C.) and the U.K. Unfortunately, the attorney demonstrated only a general understanding of family law, with no substantive knowledge of either jurisdiction’s specific legal framework. As a result, the consultation was entirely unproductive. Shortly after the consultation, I received multiple emails and phone calls from the firm in rapid succession. The level of follow-up felt excessive for a firm that is presumably in high demand, raising concerns about their client acquisition practices. The proposed retainer was $4,000, with an additional $165 monthly fee for technology and administrative costs. Their team-based approach meant the hourly rate fluctuated between $285 and $550, depending on which attorney handled the matter. Given that the D.C.-based attorney would need to consult with another lawyer for jurisdiction-specific guidance, I expressed my unwillingness to incur additional fees for what should have been addressed in the initial consultation. In response, the attorney offered a complimentary 15-minute follow-up to clarify the outstanding issues. However, when I attempted to schedule this follow-up, the staff member I spoke with was entirely unaware of the arrangement, leading to unnecessary confusion. At that point, I opted not to proceed further. In total, I spent approximately one hour on the consultation, 45 minutes reviewing the retainer agreement, and another 30 minutes in back-and-forth communications with the office. If I could bill them for the time I wasted, I would. The entire experience was disorganized, inefficient, and, ultimately, a regrettable investment of time and money.

I cannot recommend John Attiani highly enough for anyone navigating child custody or family law matters. From the moment I reached out, John was attentive, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided me through a challenging custody conference with confidence and expertise, ensuring that my interests were effectively represented. John took the time to explain every step of the process, making me feel supported and informed throughout. His strategic approach and dedication were evident, and his ability to handle sensitive discussions, such as the child custody negotiations, was impressive. Thanks to his efforts, I felt empowered and well-prepared to make the best decisions for my family. If you’re looking for a lawyer who is not only skilled but also genuinely cares about your well-being, John Attiani is the right choice. Thank you, John, for your outstanding support and representation!

Highly recommend! They made the divorce & custody process easy to understand and made a very difficult situation much more bearable. They are very knowledgable, thorough, empathetic and detailed. Despite my case being very high conflict, they did an amazing job throughout the entire process.

I have been working with Ben Gibson since May'24 on my divorce and another case and I must say his understanding of the law coupled with his calm demeanor make him an excellent attorney and someone I would happily recommend. He has explained everything I have questioned and has been equally diligent in pursuing the most positive outcome for my cases. If you get Ben as your attorney, consider yourself lucky. He will fight for the best possible outcome in your case.

Lawyers being sent to court that are unprepared and intimidated by the opposition is not a good look. We are in a terrible situation because of this
