I can’t say enough about Kathy Minella and her team! I was going through a difficult divorce and she came to my rescue. Divorcing a narcissist is mentally draining. I, unfortunately, had to not only battle for custody of my kids but also had to go through the trying and difficult task of obtaining a restraining order against my husband. Although my divorce was difficult, working with Kathy and her excellent team made the process less confusing, easing my stress along the way. Finding the Minella Law Group was a blessing. I should have written this review a long time ago. My divorce was in 2013. At that time, Minella worked for San Diego Law Firm. The same law firm my husband and I had hired to draw our living trust years prior to our divorce. Then, for our divorce, my husband hired the same firm and Minella was appointed to represent him. NOT only did Minella and the entire firm failed to recognize their inability to represent him due to conflict of interest, but she was also a complete bully to me. She had the audacity to call my personal cell phone number and tried to intimidate and bully me with law jargon, when clearly, she WAS NOT ALLOWED TO CALL ME, PERIOD. She crossed the line. When I hired my awesome divorce attorney, the first thing she did was to remove Minella from the case. She also told me that I could get her in real trouble by reporting her to the bar association. Another attorney friend of mine told me the same thing. At the time, I simply did not have the energy or the focus to do it. Now, reading the many other negative reviews, I can see not much has changed. Unprofessional in my opinion. CORRECTION: in my original post, I wrote that Minella was working at a law firm in La Mesa. Now their response is that she NEVER worked in La Mesa. I corrected the location to the actual name of the law firm, which was in Lemon Grove, I believe is no longer under that name, as I couldn't find it. Tell her to look under the last name of De Anda. I mentioned the year of my divorce. I'm absolutely sure she knows and remembers where she used to work in that year.

Kathy, Jasmin and Cassidy did a wonderful helping me my cases for move aways with both my children. They listened to my concerns and took everything into consideration. At all times I was kept up to date on the status of my case and what they believed the outcome was going to be. In the end, they were spot on with their views and I now have custody of both my children. I don't know if I could have done it with any other law team, but I know I can always count on Kathy and her staff to be there if I need them.

Kathy was the first attorney I have had that prioritized me, and more importantly my children’s needs, recognizing that things needed to be executed quickly. I was extremely cautious about any involvement with another attorney, as I was let down and disappointed by several of them prior. On top of dealing with a complicated nightmare divorce (that lasted for years), my finances were nearly depleted. I desperately needed help, but was afraid of the endless amounts of paperwork being filed, thousands of dollars monthly, and the inevitable passage of time with no updates, responses, or sense of urgency, when it was needed most. She was the first attorney that attempted to understand my personal experience, not wasting time on irrelevant details, but truly assessing what was needed and getting it done quickly. She was upfront and honest, and for the first time, I felt I was treated fairly and not grossly overcharged. I felt that every penny was more than well spent. She and her staff were friendly and responsive, answering my calls and e-mails usually the day of (which I found was very rare previously). When something needed to be edited, or revised, she very thoroughly went over it, making sure everything was correct and was quick to make any necessary changes. Kathy had a very human, common sense approach, while at the time, applying her knowledge of the law to my specific case. I am so happy I chose her, and won’t hesitate to contact her again with any future legal needs that may arise. Needless to say, I highly recommend her.
