This review is long overdue. I've been engaged in the property management business since around 2001 and was introduced to Bruce and an associate of his as they were teaching a property management certification class at the time. I gleaned a lot of useful and eye opening information from the class that's assisted me in providing excellent service to my clients over the past couple decades. Fortunately it was so good that we haven't had to utilize eviction services much over the years unless it was new clients that had pre-existing tenant issues. Between Bruce and his associate from another firm we have never lost an unlawful detainer (eviction) case. I continue to use Menke Law Firm and refer them to exacerbated potential clients who are at their wits end with problem tenants and they've never let us down. Some may feel they're robotic or unprofessional however I believe this is a mistake as assertiveness and knowledge/experience of the law allows them to cut through and get to the meat of a given case. Ultimately they are lawyers not psychologists and need to focus on the pertinent details rather than the minutia or everything a tenant may have put you through. This is beneficial to the client in the long run as they bill by the hour!

I have been doing property management in Long Beach for decades. Around 2008, I was stuck in court with my buffoon attorney for the entire day and watched all the cases come before the judge. I was so impressed with how well Bruce handled his clients cases that I asked for his business card and have been using him ever since. In addition to being very knowledgeable in tenant/landlord law he is very responsive to answering questions and overseeing his office. Speaking of his office staff, Lynelle is the best proof reader around, if you made a mistake on any notice, it will not get passed her.

This law firm is unprofessional, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and robotic. Yes, they helped me evict my tenants as I wanted, but it was a very unpleasant experience working with them. They were difficult to get a hold of, communication was vague, and rarely gave legal advise. At one instance, Lynelle cursed at me as we were ending our call, which she thought I didn’t hear. I was polite during my phone call so it really threw me off. I believe she said it out of frustration because I was asking for a discount in consideration because of my disappointment with their services. Sonja apologized on her behalf, but had the audacity to ask if we still wanted to work with them. Basically insinuating I had no other choice because I was so far into my lawsuit. I would not recommend hiring this firm. If you do, expect to be mistreated and experience a lot of frustration. I had to dispute erroneous billings a couple times, yet they still tried sneaking it in later down the line. In my consultation call I spoke with Dana and I liked her, so I hired the firm expecting a professional working relationship. Boy was I wrong. I rarely had direct communication with Dana after that, and when I did, it was impossible to get a hold of her on the phone because she was “too busy” and her emails back were vague so there was never any good communication. Oh, but they were happy to charge you after finally responding to emails vaguely and of course needing to communicate back with questions (equaling more money for them). This case took longer than it should’ve due to their apathetic work style. They don’t care and they definitely let you feel it. It’s a lackadaisical office so I would not advise you to hire them. Condescending staff and they are very expensive. Always spoke to a new staff member and had to repeat myself. Very exhausting.
