*Beware* This is by far the worst attorney I’ve ever had. I would have been better off with a public defender. (And I eventually did after firing her. The public defender even had it expunged for free.) Maria could barely speak English at a hearing. She didn’t bother getting the records of my breathalyzer. To prove there wasn’t intent. I was intoxicated. She doesn’t even review paperwork till the hour of. She has you hire a scam artist therapist. She would tell me the wrong court dates. I am shocked she is still practicing law and hasn’t been disbarred. She is preying on good people that have made a mistake. She did not defend me, had no power to negotiate. I had to plea no contest to a felony I didn’t commit. I paid for a crime I didn’t commit. She doesn’t bother obtaining evidence, she doesn’t bother calling anybody. I had thought because I never heard from her, that it was because she was doing her job. No, it’s because she wasn’t doing it at all. How many lives has she ruined? She is a criminal.

Hands down, the absolute worst, least professional, incompetent (and misleading) service provider I've ever encountered. It's no myth that the majority of attorneys are sharks preying on the public's lack of knowledge and ability to navigate through our convoluted and laughable "justice system", but its quite eye opening to realize the insultingly poor performance and client service they're able to get away with offering. Not only was it a massive chore to get any response from her and staff (through email, phone, etc. and with simple, once a month inquiries on case status), but the 2 out of 3 times we did communicate, she had obviously not reviewed my file, any of the information I provided her, confused my information with another case and did not ever once confer with the District Attorney besides literally five seconds before the case hearing was called, and yes after court had commenced. All of the four hearings she appeared at, she requested continuance because she failed to do any follow-up or work on the case. Pardon, she requested four continuances so she could collect her retainer over the term of the agreement and then drop the case without ever having to do any work (as she did with two other gentleman's cases I saw). The Private Investigator we briefly worked with through her was great, and I was happy to pay for and impressed with his services and responsiveness. Not that the Public Defender I'm now assigned to is any sort of rock star or delivers excellent service, but he has done quite a bit more of the minimal lifting needing to oversee the case. I cannot WAIT to discuss getting my money refunded due to her lack of service/breach in contract. I admittedly do not have extensive experience in the legal realm whatsoever and have only worked with three attorneys, but I'd still highly advise against working with this office.

Hired Maria after I was in an accident. She helped me get the compensation I needed after needing surgery and medical care due to the accident. She explained the process and each step, since this was my first experience through an ordeal like this. The case took a while to resolve, but she kept communicating with me and made sure I was aware of where we were in the process.
