I’m not sure how this law firm has received such high reviews, because they completely scammed me and my family out of $16,000. They charged us this amount without us ever going to trial. The first red flag was that the attorney was late coming into the Temporary Orders Hearing because she went to the wrong floor. I had to announce myself in front of the judge which made her irritable. By the time the lawyer arrived, the judge shot down all of her objections. The worst part about this is the law firm kept demanding more money. They only filed one motion but kept asking for us to replenish the trust. They caused a huge financial hardship without delivering. I feel like they just stockpiled our money and didn’t put the work in. They charged a much higher retainer than other firms, so I was expecting premium results. Instead, the lawyer backtracked on a lot of promises. At first we thought we would get legal fees reimbursed, but she told us (after they demanded money 2x) that it wouldn’t be happening. She also said she would work on getting the geographic restrictions lifted, but took that back as well. I don’t have any family here and I was never married to my kid’s dad, so this should not have been a complicated case. I’m resentful that we wasted so much money on a dead end. Don’t make the same mistake I did, find someone else.
