Karen represented me in a bad divorce. I was on the verge of filing for the divorce, when I found out that my wife was moving to an address that I was not aware of. Not being able to serve my wife would have been a disaster. Karen filed my divorce within a day or two when she found out about the issue. My ex-wife was vengeful and dishonest. She (with no prompting from me) said she wanted to settle for a certain number. I after some negotiations, accepted her number. Then with no reason, 3 or 4 days later she just changed her mind. We decided on a strategy that would force her to make an offer she couldn't retract, and we did settle the case for a number I was happy with. Karen returned my calls promptly and her fees were reasonable. (I have an unusual name, so, for security and privacy reasons, I don't use it on my gmail account) I would highly recommend her.

There is a rated review listed with the last name Pipik, odd because there’s also a Amanda Pipik that works in this office?? I met with Karen three times before retaining her, to express concerns that I had about lawyers listening and doing what they should be, because they are not volunteering their time, they are being paid for it and being paid well. This office charged me for things that they could have not done, and they also like to milk the clock! The faulty charges where motions filed to terminate another motion which was not possible in this particular case, this is signs of not listening or knowing what’s going on. Karen will also stop during schedule meetings that you are paying her for to take calls and talk to other people, and bill you for this time, and I’m sure she’s billing those individuals also. I told her over and over again that some of the methods she was suggesting had already been tried, and were not going to get anywhere, and they didn’t, again signs of not listening to clients and milking the clock. A lot of what she was suggesting was for me to give up my rights for no reason, signs of her not putting much of a care, effort, or fight up for her clients. After me putting a stop to wild goose chases she was wanting to take me on, she began telling me I need to do more unnecessary things, another sign of milking the clock. Finally when we get to court, again no fight or effort for the client, and I had to tell her the magistrate was addressing her, again not listening. I think as a person Karen brinkman is a very nice person, just not a good attorney. I’ve listed this review in hope that attorneys who handle family law cases. Will realize that people who pay lawyers the large amounts of fees that they charge, is because they love their children very much, and will do anything for them. Please don’t take a vantage of these people in there biggest time of need for someone to help them. At the end of the day lawyers go home and continue with their life’s, but by your actions you could ruin someone else’s, more importantly a child’s. For all those loving parents out there take the time to interview and research the lawyer you plan to pay these large amounts of fees to, your happiness, well being, sound mine, and most importantly the biggest reason, the child/children’s depend on it.
