I walked into the Charles Street office in August, 2009. This was after being denied for YEARS. After serving 2 & 1/2 years at Camp Lejeune drinking that contaminated water, bathing in it, washing our clothes and having our food cooked with it. 70%--75% of our body weight was made up of that water while we were stationed there. AND after TWENTY TWO YEARS (1992--2014) of silence/denial from the V.A. Health "care" system who...for TWENTY TWO YEARS...insisted there was NOTHING wrong with me: "I have been working here for 25/20/15/etc/etc years and there's NOTHING in your service records that would explain the symptoms you're describing. It is the opinion of this staff/treatment team/etc/etc that you are "faking it" for whatever reason." That ended less than four months later, December 2009, after walking into Mering and Associates for the first time in August, 2009. They took the bull by its horns and had me standing in the Rotunda office signing for my benefits in about 3 and a half months. That made it a lot easier to deal with the V.A. until Camp Lejeune Families Act was created.👌

They won my SSI case after I was denied just once. Remember though lawyers can’t work magic meaning you have to have all the psych documentation meaning you need to have seen a therapist and psychiatrist for at least a year or two and any other physical documentation you can give them. If you don’t have proof the judge isn’t going to approve you. If you are applying for physical disability you need a primary care doctor. Also if you’re going for psych disability it helps a lot if you go to the psych ward once or twice within a year of your next hearing. I wish this disability lawyer would tell you what you should do more how to maximize your chances instead of him saying before the judge see’s you “We’ll see how it goes”. It’s like give me some tips, that’s what you’re getting paid for.

I'm NOT just saying this & I SWEAR this is NOT a paid endorsement!I met w/ Mr Mering for a consultation and after that he & his paralegals did ALL the work after he decided to take my case. 5 STARS Tim Mering is hands down the best disability lawyer in Maryland. His firm only does Social Security Disability cases . Very recently he won my ALJ appeal after being cessated over 21/2+ years ago, being investigated, followed and after having been on disability for 7 years. I’m now 62. I had lost my left leg in a motorcycle accident 10 years ago. Lost my first lower level appeal with a different lawyer, and he’s a good guy but didn’t know the SS code or law, he mainly a PI lawyer. Called around and those who know disability law and system said to me “You want TIM MERING” he’s amazing and he IS who you want. He’s a really great guy, knows his SSDI law, and works with the client as if we were family. I can’t say enough great things about him, he worked a miracle for me, I consider him my friend.
