Attorney Nickolls agreed to take my case when I reached out to her under short notice, as the ex-spouse had already filed. Her fees are fair, and the divorce was finalized within a reasonable timeframe, for which I am appreciative. However, there were times I wished that she would have stood up for me, instead of me advocating aggressively for myself. It felt like she was doing what was more convenient. For instance, when there was enough evidence to file a motion for child support, she stalled. I lost significant time and money because of this delay and indifference. When we eventually parted ways, she was professional enough to provide suggestions for other lawyers, one of which I hired. I noticed a huge difference - this new attorney had my back, and was able to put the ex-spouse and his lawyer in their place. They were no longer able to intimidate me, and I have had peace for the past few months since the case was settled in my favor. I have no doubt that Attorney Nickolls is a brilliant lawyer and would be excellent at mediation when both parties are cordial. But if you want a lawyer that can face a 'shark' lawyer, I would suggest that you look elsewhere.
