This is the perfect lawyer to assist with a divorce involving an active duty family member here at Ft Bliss. Did you drink to much and abuse your spouse? He will scoff and laugh at them during meetings with you. He used to be in the military so he will pretend the army regulations that favor your civilian spouse don’t exist. Did you take all the valuable possessions ? He will back you up saying that everything you own has depreciated down to zero and everything your civilian spouse possesses has tripled in value, or he will just tell you to say “I sold that to pay a bill”. He will also not collect any supporting documents to back anything he says up but this will not deter him from advocating for you. Example: insisting that a used, beat up, stock 5 year old Mustang is worth upwards of 40K! Practically a collector item! He is also very bad at quick math, so while he is talking over everyone and spouting numbers none of it will add up or sound like a logical, cohesive statement. Does he know the difference between assets and personal property? Does he know what a KBB value is? Or is he confused? Senile? Thinks he is Better Call Saul? Is he hoping your spouse will simply just accept the deal he sent from his personal email with their name misspelled? This is a great tactic if you want to scare your civilian spouse into submission and you hope to leave them with nothing when they 1000s or miles away from home. Unless of course your spouse hired someone who is honest and fair, who files their paperwork on time, shows up to court, knows what they’re entitled to and helps split the household items and assists fairly. Proud to be the ONLY 5 star review !

I was referred to him by a friend who thought he could really help me during my divorce. This is my own personal experience and I I am not here to bash anyone or defame someone's name. During the course of time I had him I as the client was not in the best mental shape and I was not in a good position legally. He only ever advised me 30 minutes to maybe an hour before each hearing and mediation. Other than that I didn't hear from him at all. I never saw him in person and any time we were on zoom He didn't really speak to me nor really seemed in my perspective care about what I was going through. Ultimately I believe his services costed me over 10,000 and my family and friends feel like he really didn't do any work for that amount of money. After mediation,4 months later, I never heard from him again. I heard from his paralegal or whatever she is once and it was saying they were finalizing my divorce. Mediation was Mid January, as of 5/24/2023 I am still not divorced even though everything was settled in mediation. During this time I have tried reaching out multiple times, and asking for just an update if anything. No response. I have had some important things happen that are causing me to go back to court and I have tried reaching out to him and his associate. Still no response. I'm not here to bash or put bad on his name, just stating the facts. I personally wish I would have never went with him. In my opinion he was professional to a degree when talking to me, but his lack of communication and his office ignoring me was really unprofessional. I wish he would have let me go as a client if he had too much on his plate. I can't speak for everyone but my experience I wish I would have never used him in the first place I would have saved a lot more money with someone else.

Update: Mr Smith even had the audacity to say I still owed him money. The only thing he ever submitted to the courts was paperwork that was not accurate. he couldn't even remember my name nor the fact that I was getting divorced and had joint conservative ship with my ex. he kept on saying that they were my biological children with my ex. I chose Mr. Smith because he said he had knowledge of military laws & regulations. There was a huge difference in his attitude and professionalism from before signing the contract to afterwards. The whole six months that I had him as my lawyer the only thing he did was make mistakes at my expense!! He didn't even familiarize himself with my case prior to any of our meetings, especially the only court hearing that was severely hampered by him not having any information at hand! He had to call his assistant for My information and I had to re-email him my paperwork as we were waiting for my appointed court time. He never even asked for any information from my cheating active duty military husband, like his retirement or savings information. Nothing. He's severely absent minded he is severely absent minded and trying to take on too many cases at one time. Point in case, when I was waiting for my court hearing he was dealing with two other clients on my dime!!!

Smith was a terrible divorce attorney. All he did was make jokes about how much he going to charge me. His staff in his office would make rude and obscene comments about clients calling in to ask fo for information. Not thinking anyone would be listening. Almost two years trying to get divorced his response was that's all I can do. It seemed he was working for the other side. Please do not hire. I spent thousands of dollars on him. Now I have to spend more money to fix his mess. Not good for his business.

Mr Smith was initially very friendly and seemed like he would be very helpful. I have a child support enforcement and modification case. I paid the initial $2200 retainer and then his office forgot to notify my ex about the court date, so the date was pushed back several months (meanwhile, all of this time I have still not received any child support payments). For the second court date, I had to contact his office and remind them to notify my ex about a week ahead of time because they still had not done it! Almost a month after we met at court and agreed on the modification and enforcement, where I was told that payments would start on Aug 1, I received an email that I owe another $1200+ retainer so that he can "finalize" the order. I have been trying to contact him for over a week now about this additional retainer and no one will return my calls or respond to my emails.
