My husband and I worked with Lynn on two surrogacy journeys. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Lynn. Three words that describe Lynn are: impersonal, unresponsive, and arrogant. Every conversation with Lynn, whether via email or phone, almost felt like talking to a robot with no personality whatsoever. Additionally, there were many instances in which it took over a week (and multiple follow-ups) to get responses to time-sensitive inquiries from Lynn and/or her assistant, Nicole. When communication issues were addressed, Lynn was dismissive and ignored our concerns. Moreover, while Lynn undoubtedly has expertise in the realm of surrogacy, my husband and I did not appreciate her arrogant, unsolicited discussion of her credentials. An example that sticks out is when she was talking about work she did on a surrogacy case with the Wisconsin Supreme Court. At one point, Lynn bluntly said, "You can thank me for this." Regardless of what her involvement with the case was, her demeanor about it was very off-putting. Surrogacy journeys are often sensitive and emotional, and the focus should be on the clients' needs, not the attorney's credentials or personal achievements. In addition to the aforementioned issues, Lynn's fees are extremely high compared to other surrogacy lawyers in the Madison, WI, area. For instance, Lynn was the reviewing attorney for our second gestational surrogacy agreement. Our surrogate's attorney (who is also very experienced and came highly recommended) was the drafting attorney for the agreement and charged 15% less than Lynn. It was shocking that Lynn's fees as the reviewing attorney were substantially higher than the drafting attorney's fees. After completing the agreement, my husband and I looked for a different attorney in the Madison area to represent us for the parentage proceedings. We are so glad we did this. Not only was our new attorney much more personable and responsive than Lynn, she was also much more cost effective. In fact, Lynn's fees would have been more than 55% higher than the attorney we ultimately worked with. We had a much more pleasant experience, saved a lot of money, and, most importantly, ended with the same outcome we would have with Lynn. Ultimately, there are numerous attorneys in the Madison area who are qualified in surrogacy law who are more personable, responsive, and cost effective than Lynn.
