In September of 2021 the unthinkable happened, I received a call from Children’s Hospital in Texas that my toddler had been airlifted to their facility with possible brain injury. My ex-wife had taken our son against court orders and without my knowledge or permission. Distraught one of my first calls was to Buncher Law. I was immediately assured that they would handle all the legal aspects and I should just worry about getting to Texas. The team at Buncher went into action and the following day an emergency hearing took place remotely with me at the hospital in Texas, and Sven Buncher appearing locally. The team at Buncher did not miss a step, they assured that I had a hospital representative present for the hearing and witness to any court orders made. The hearing ensued and It did not take long for the Judge to order sole temporary physical and legal custody to me, allowing me the right to make all important medical decisions for my son and get him home to California. In the days to follow, there was so much to tackle travel arrangements, finding appropriate follow up care for my son in California, dealing with medical leave from work etc . And amongst it all Sven Buncher and his team were there to offer continued support. The initial court hearing triggered several follow up hearings and much legal work to be done. I was able to focus my energy on getting my son healed and our life back together as the Buncher team focused on putting in place orders to modify child support, orders for a child custody evaluation to make determinations about my ex-wife’s mental fitness and determine a plan to move us forward. It has been a long road to repair the damage created by some poor decisions my ex-wife has made. I just don’t know how I would have made it through without the compassion and care showed by the Buncher team through this horrific experience.

Normally, I don’t give review unless I feel it’s imperative to help even with one person to make the right decision. Especially, when that someone is going through one of the lowest moments a of their life: a divorce. Here is my long story: In Jan of ‘22, my then husband of 18 years texted me saying he was done with me, gave me 30 days to move out of the house that we both owned with my blind dog. Mind you, I didn’t have a job at the time. I had no way of supporting myself and my blind dog. A few days later, I found out that he was having an affair. I filed for divorce a week after. My good friend referred attorney Buncher to me because she heard some good things about him from a friend of hers. I retained attorney Buncher after talking with him and several other attorneys. I felt comfortable and I could trust him with my case. I also worked with Jennifer and Gail. I felt the office treated me like family, I had confidence in them, I felt my voice was heard, and my texts or calls to Jennifer were answer in a speedy manner. I worked with the law office of attorney Buncher for two months. Then, my brother decided to help me more by taking over my case when my family doctor contacted him because my doctor was really concerned for my well-being. My brother decided to use the attorney that he thought would be better for my case. I didn’t want to switch and had such a hard time to do so but at the time, I had to let my brother help so I could concentrate on my health. Fast forward to now, my divorce was recently finalized. However, a couple months before that, I felt something wasn’t right about the proposal of the settlement. I contacted attorney Buncher firm thinking of going back and have him help with the settlement. Bless his heart, attorney Buncher thought that I would save money if I stayed with the other firm cuz my case was almost finished. Here is the costly lesson that I’ve learned: A larger law firm with supposedly lots of “awards” doesn’t mean they are the best attorneys. Don’t go with attorneys who promise you they would get you more money. That’s an empty promise. Don’t go with an attorney that seems more interest of how much money you have in the bank instead of what you would get from the settlement. A good attorney is one who actually cares about YOUR case, anyone in the office truly cares about YOU, about helping YOU. I found that at the law firm of attorney Buncher. I contacted them again this past week with questions, they have no obligation to help me, especially when I walked away before, but Gail and Dawn still take my calls/text and helping me with my questions.
