When responses did come, they were often terse and uninformative, leaving me feeling neglected and uninformed about the status of my case. Moreover, the legal advice and representation I received were subpar. Critical deadlines were missed, and important details were overlooked, which adversely affected the outcome of my case. Do you want an 85 year old attorney whose as sharp as Joe Biden on a "bad day" explaining the economy? Sell & Melton is the firm for you. I called in with a business law issue and was assigned to Chix Miller, whose a Managing Partner. Mr. Miller made sure to consistently remind me that he was working on much more important 18,320,483 dollar insurance underwriting deals than working on my case. When he found out that the opposing council was the son of an attorney he knew, it started to feel a lot like Mr. Miller was more interested in keeping face with the Good Ol' Boy's club than representing his client. Not to worry though, Mr. Miller is as on the ball as ever. His turn around on emails and phone calls is between 7 and 14 days. When we finally closed my case for far less than I would have with a lawyer that was born in the last half of the 1900s, I asked that he ensure the opposing side paid the legal fees that he had quoted me. He did that, and he also doubled the fees that we talked about and charged me the other half. I should have known better when I saw that their letterhead had all the partners names on top and "In Memorium" was written under most of them.
