Jennifer Thompson is the best!!! She worked very hard for me and was always very kind. Jennifer is very easy to talk to and is very compassionate and understanding. She was also very honest with me about what I could and couldn't expect from my situation which I appreciated very much. Jennifer always made sure that I knew exactly what was going on with my case and that I understood everything. She made me feel very comfortable asking any questions that I had and always got back to me quickly with answers to those questions. She works very hard for everyone that she represents. I used Jennifer Thompson bc I knew her on a personal level for a couple years. I felt confident in her and the fact that I was making a huge life change with her help but boy was I wrong. I should've done better research on her before entering into a legal matter and signing a contract. I felt she was lazy, blew me off, did not follow up, she didn't return my calls after 3 attempts, did not fight for me as a person/ client and didn't care about my case bc she already had my money upfront. I paid my retainer which went to a bunch of back and forth paper work and a couple court appearances. I voiced my opinions on how I was treated with 3 people in the office and also asked to speak with the owner, Michelle Schafer, but was denied twice bc that is not Jennifer's boss and she just works along side her. After my divorce was final I received a final bill in the mail for over $800. I gave up almost everything to have my divorce finalized quickly to be able to move on and end the crazy amount of lawyer fees for things that I could've done on my own. Moral of the story I spent almost $3500 on some expensive paperwork and emails with very little in return!!

This law firm is less than professional the secretary would call scream at me and when I asked her why she was treating me like this her response was you Christians are all alike worthless my sister along with a restaurant full of people heard this conversation because I had it on speaker phone. Be careful because after we came to an agreement on some assets with my soon to be ex-husband Michelle Schaefer and my ex husband attorney changed it .I lost the vehicle I had and he got both vehicle because he borrowed money against the one I had and I could keep the vehicle I had as long as I would pay the debt he owed on it. She is a scammer. By the way the secretary owned a business in Marion and she said because Christian men and women thinking they should get something for nothing thier business went down hill and they had to close thier doors. Not all Christians are the same. I just wanted truth and justice nothing more nothing less. There is alot more i can say but I wint butt be sure she is not worth the money she has you pay and she is fake and a fraud

She was the worst lawyer you could have. She took $10,000 of my money and only saw me twice, then waved me as a client. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. I have turned her in to the IL Disciplinary Association. Hopefully she'll be looked at as a terrible attorney and a shister. DON'T recommend her AT ALL.
