Rasor Law Firm

It is with great frustration and heartbreak that I leave this review, after having my case neglected, and counsel withdrawing after nearly two years of incompetence and inaction. After a family therapist told me to hire an attorney owing to my children being in an abusive environment, it took months for this firm to get a motion before the court. The attorney failed to advise me of a response from opposing council, and came to the hearing unprepared, not challenging untrue testimony which started momentum working against us in the matter. Despite the attorney having proof of the dishonesty, he opted not to remediate the matter by setting the record straight in court, and petitioning for legal costs and/or sanctions - action a competent family attorney would have taken immediately. Often I was told to "just wait," as I asked if there was a plan. Meanwhile, the other parent engaged in egregious behavior, at one point precipitating police involvement, while my attorney remained on the sidelines. Inattention left the paralegal surprised to receive a call from me, having thought the matter was closed. Opposing council filed a motion, and my attorney was unable to craft a response in time, leaving me to do the work at the last minute. The paralegal filed this vital response on the wrong case, and my attorney was oblivious to this during a hearing that went very badly. After the hearing I pulled the court records and discovered the error. When I informed the attorney of this issue, I received no response. When I sent a second communication expressing my displeasure over what happened, I received a very uninterested and unconcerned response stating, "oh, we thought that was just an fyi." The inaction torpedoed my case and the main concern my attorney had was that my second email upset his paralegal; it was the only time I really saw the attorney show any fire. There was a hearing date that was changed and when I called in, I discovered the office forgot to notify me There was another hearing where we had to track down my attorney and he was clearly disoriented when he joined the call. Because I trusted this firm, my children were exposed to more confusion and cruelty than was ever necessary, at a cost to me of $15,000. This firm does nothing to help the terrible perception lawyers have, and shows just how badly the retainer system can be abused. I have a great deal of familiarity with the court system and this was a case I could have handled myself, but I wanted to avoid the dynamics of squaring off against a former spouse in the courtroom. Because I understand the process, I am acutely aware of just how badly my case was managed, and it is my children who are paying the price, having to grow up in separate households while this law firm enriched itself. I am in a position to recover attorney fees by taking action myself against my spouse, for her documented dishonesty, but Rasor has not responded to multiple polite requests for a final billing. This firm has no business intervening when the future of young children are involved, and letting my children languish for two years before withdrawing is a complete lack of compassion and ethics. This firm's loyalty was neatly summarized when my $15,000 was dissolved mainly owing to my calls asking for a plan of action, their withdrawal, and the final dismissive, unconcerned words uttered to me: "Good luck."
Once again, this time on ridiculously short notice on my part, Rasor Law Firm has come through. Simply a great, easy process from start to finish. The professional service starts well before you ever speak to an attorney. Can't recommend this firm enough. If you are looking for a law firm that really cares about people, your search should start and stop with Rasor.
You would honestly be better defending yourself. Probably the most unprofessional, unethical, and useless law firm in Michigan.

Do not hire Jeffrey McCarty for anything you will be wasting your money. Not only is he rude and will hang up the phone on you mid conversation, he’ll also change up how you are being charged with no heads up. Wasted 15k with this clown.
Hard to reach and lacking in the people skills department. I paid 2500 for absolutely nothing. You say lawyer, I say legal robbery. all I received from Mr McCarty was the bear minimum. By far the worst purchase of my life with nothing to show for it. You're better off hiring a clown
Went to Rasor Law Firm after I survived being struck by a car back in early 2018. The lawyers were very responsive and helpful , and helped me win my case. I believe it was Brandon W who assisted me if I’m not mistaken . Great law firm and I’d recommend it to anyone. Y’all rock !

My original review was going to be simply that Jeffrey T. McCarty had my case dismissed. After all, when all is said and done, the dismissal was the only...
