As the same as some other customers I feel I got ripped off by these people. I paid the $5000 for child custody thinking we would have to go to court. I never met Claire or even talked to any other lawyer there only the secretary. When the mother conceded two days after I paid the retainer I told them that it was settled that it just needed to be filed. I did the running around to get signatures. When I asked about getting some of my money back since all they did was file the paperwork with the Courts I was told that Claire would contact me multiple times and that she was never there when I went by. After reading some other comments I feel it would be best to seek other council for legal matters. I am happy that I got custody (mandatory one star) but could have saved thousands of dollars by using anybody else in Abilene instead.

Ms. Mehaffey is the best attorney in Abilene. She is professional and very knowledgeable. She handled our custody case fast and without any issues. Ms. Mehaffey also handled some of my families cases and they all were 100% satisfied. Ms. Mehaffey’s staff are friendly and willing to help at all times.

By far some of the worst experiences I've had could have been avoided if this office was interested in anything besides my billing information. I've never received a call back when I gave them my concerns, the only calls I've received have been about more money being needed. I was represented in court once and spent $10000 and received a bill for $2000 more. I was charged for 8hr of mediation up front and wasn't refunded the 6hrs we ended early. I provided hundreds of photos, records, and screenshots relevant to my case for none to be used. I paid $540 for a transcript I've never seen. I paid $600 for a private investigator to take a few screenshots online and another $875 to have my lawyer talk about those screenshots. Truly awful experience to beg and plead with someone you hired to do the work you higher them for.

Got charged $7,500 for a uncontested piece of paper (2 other lawyers said 5hrs max) and then didn't receive paperwork that was supposed to be transferred through them. They were the only ones who picked up the phone when I *thought* I was in a bind and now I wish they didn't. Unless you want to be taken advantage of, call somewhere else. 0/10 defiantly do not recommend.

I wish I could less than one star and I wish I would have read the reviews before I hired them DO NOT USE THIS FIRM they are beyond crooked they just did a probate for my family and I was treated like dirt. Ever time I met Mr Watson he introduced himself, this process took two years. The “ladies “ Mandy and Kayla behaved like children when I went into the office one day Kayla told Mandy I was there and she ran out and I looked up and she walked very quickly to the window and stretched. I am so glad this process is over. Beyond ridiculous I last more than my parents.
