Over many years of work, our attorneys have helped thousands of clients with a variety of services in family law in Northern California, including divorce, child custody & visitation, child support, property division, military divorce, interstate child custody, and divorce modifications, among others. As a measure of our success, many of our cases come from referrals from former clients and other attorneys.

Mr. Gerald Christensen is a great paralegal. He acted as a mediator during my divorce and was knowledgeable very helpful during the entire process. His communication is outstanding and often got right back to me when I had a question or he would call me to tell me the updates during the process. my ex and I never had to step foot in the courtroom. Price was reasonable for the process. Would recommend him to anyone.

Absolutely horrible attorney and paralegal husband and wife team, takes your money and does absolutely nothing $3800.00 to acquaint themselves with my case, Gerald had no idea what Susan was doing and Susan had no idea what gerald was doing. Incompetent, and bumbling buffoons at best!

Horrible attorney. She represented my girlfriend during her divorce and instead of helping her get custody of her children, she was instead more helpful in getting her ex-husband a nice sum of child support. And her husband whom works with her is quicker to send you an invoice for every little thing than he is to send you anything you ask for. These people are utterly deplorable and greedy.

If I could give this agency negative stars, I would. I would never have imagined having an attorney could actually make things worse. Honestly, you'll have better luck just flushing your money down the toilet. The following is a statement from my husband on our experience: In February 2016, I did an intake with this law office. I waited until beginning of April to give attorney the $4500 retainer. Weeks go by with no word. Finally after almost a month, someone calls me back saying they are sorry but someone would call me back. The paperwork was not filed until mid-May. I was told to make any corrections needed before it went to be filed. Everything, including my daughter's name, was wrong. I sent over all corrections, which were not made and which of course was used by my ex in her statement to discredit me. I was told date was for June 27th. It out of state and was put on for phone hearing. I took day off from work and waited all day. I had left messages asking for instructions and thought they would call me, which never happened. Turned out I was supposed to call into the court the day of hearing, which was heard by visiting judge from another county that did not specialize in family law. Since I did not call in, the judge ruled in favor of the mother without hearing any information of the case. Next day attorney calls me and goes over the case. Everything I told her like how she’s gone once again 2 ½ years without a dental exam and other things and the attorney was acting like it’s the first time she’s heard it, even though the issues were all mentioned at intake. I ask her if she received the documents I emailed to prepare for the hearing and she said no because her assistant was on vacation. Her assistant is her HUSBAND! She says she’s going to go back to the court in the morning to find out what happened and re-file to have it seen by the original judge. A week and a half later, I get a message saying she refiled the paperwork with no other information. 3 weeks of calls and emails go by with no response. I had to consult another attorney who gave me the information to the court’s website to find out that the date was scheduled during the exact time I told them we would be out of the country. We had a prior obligation that had been 2 years in the making and could not cancel at last minute. The attorney’s assistant/husband told me the date wasn’t to determine custody but just to get it put back on the books in front the original judge and that I could sign a permission slip giving the attorney authority to make decisions on my behalf. In the meantime, I get a bill charging us $100 for telephone call to discuss judge’s refusal to hear case, $1,027 for research codes, case re “Dismissal”, prepare request for order under CCP473 regarding need to overturn Jude’s ruling; $79 to prepare declaration from client granting attorney to enter an agreement on his behalf, $99 prepare permission for attorney to represent petitioner at hearing. They never gave me instructions, nor did they return calls or emails, in regards to the hearing and I was charged $1300 for their error and they scheduled hearing at a time when they were specifically told I would be out of the country. I signed the permission slip anyhow. I didn’t have reception while away but once I got back in the country I noticed I had received 3 messages from attorney’s office saying I was scheduled for phone hearing and actually giving me instructions. I had already told them he would out of the country. I had $1,200 left in the account which I’m sure they used towards that August hearing. I have been home 3 weeks, and even though I have left messages, they have not called back. The only reason I know what is going on is because I received a message from mediator’s office while we were gone. They called back and there is mediation scheduled for today and court date for October 4th. Now during call with mediator I was told I was supposed to pay for mediation, but I was not made aware by the attorney’s office whatsoever.

I called from the Middle East to obtain basic information and Gerald Christiansen, the office manager, was extremely helpful. If the legal issues in our case develop, I most certainly would go to this lawyer, Susan E. Christiansen. Her office seems to be in their client's corner. Beverly Baker-Kelly, PhD, J.D.
