June 2018...... I went into their office to talk to them about attaining custody over my daughter. Both her and a lady named Barbara told me that it would pretty much be impossible, and that even though that my daughter lived in a homeless shelter, as I quote “it may not be a bad place “.They told me that the proper steps were to make sure that I was paying the right amount of child support first, even though that I’m paying $1400 a month. Next, they told me since I haven’t seen my daughter in two years that I would have to rebuild a relationship with her that could take another two years. Then they threw an $8000 retainer fee without any clear answer if they wanted to work for me or not. I decided to get different legal representation, and today I stand as the sole custody parent of my daughter. Even though that it cost me $12,000, the lawyer that I went to gave me reassurance that they were going to fight for me. My daughter is out of a homeless Shelter. I do not know if they just didn’t want to help me because it was a situation that they could not handle, or is it because I was a male trying to get custody over a daughter.
