Dan Roth aggressively advocates for clients in California courts and universities in criminal defense, school discipline, and civil rights matters. Before founding the Law Office of Dan Roth in 2012, Dan worked as an associate with the legendary team at Arguedas, Cassman & Headley (now Arguedas, Cassman, Headley & Goldman). He brings to his criminal defense practice prior experience as an Assistant Attorney General in his native Ohio, where he litigated election law, public records, and other issues. Dan began his legal career in Washington, D.C., first as Judicial Selection Fellow at the Alliance For Justice, and then as counsel at the watchdog organization Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington (CREW). Dan serves on the Board of Directors of the American Constitution Society’s Bay Area Lawyer Chapter, which he served as Chair from 2011 – 2014, and on the Board of the Golden Gate Audubon Society, where he chairs the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. Dan is a founding member of the artist and activist collective Blackout for Human Rights, which produces the annual MLK Now gathering at Harlem’s Riverside Church, and was an associate producer of the documentary The Power of Two.

I was arrested for driving under the influence and hit and run. I hired Berkeley DUI attorney Dan Roth because he was straight forward with me in my consultation. My alcohol level was .30, three times the limit. The police officers violated my constitutional rights. Mr. Roth told me to be patient, did research and drafted and filed with the Court a Motion to Suppress. The District Attorney’s Office opposed the motion vigorously. Mr. Roth cross-examined the police officer before the Judge and the Judged ruled in our favor. The Judge suppressed all the evidence, concluding the officer violated my constitutional right and dismissed my case. I would highly recommend Dan Roth Law Firm for anyone charged with a DUI or a criminal offense.
