About Law Office of Dan Alfaro, PLLC

Daniel Virgil Alfaro (Dan Alfaro) was born in Premont, Texas and raised in Weslaco, Texas where he attended Weslaco High School. Upon graduation from high school he enrolled at Texas A&I College, (Texas A&M, Kingsville). He received a debate scholarship and received a military stipend the final two years. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the regular army. Dan trained at the airborne school in Ft. Benning, Georgia and received special forces training with the 10th Special Forces Group (ABN) in Bad Tolz, Germany. While in Germany he trained with the German paratroopers and the French special forces. After three (3) years in Europe he volunteered for service in Viet Nam and was assigned as a combat advisor to Vietnamese soldiers and mercenaries. Dan also participated with the political section of the U. S. Embassy as part of the Phoenix Program implemented by the U.S. Embassy as a Special Displacement Project. Because of action under fire he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Vietnamese Honor Medal, and the U.S. Army Commendation medal. He was also recommended for the Silver Star, the third highest award for action in combat above and beyond the call of duty. The affidavit for this recommendation is available upon request. After his tour of duty in Viet Nam, he was assigned to Santiago, Chile as an advisor to Chilean army units and worked with the political section of the U.S. Embassy. He resigned his regular army commission having attained the rank of Captain and studied law at St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio, Texas where he was a member of MALDEF.
