The Krebs Law Firm is amazing. They are caring and very knowledgeable. I was denied like many and knew I needed help. Jason listened to my case and started right away. Jason and his staff always listened to what I had to say and always had an answer. The Krebs Law Firm helped me win my case. I would recommend The Krebs Law Firm to anyone who is needing help with their disability case.

SSA had denied me 4 times and I needed someone fast. Krebs Law Firm was highly recommended. I did my research, as everyone should, and found them to be exactly who I needed to represent me. Once they accepted my case, the magic started. I actually started seeing results in motion. Jason Krebs and Laura Lebak were extremely informative and thorough concerning my needs. I can't imagine anyone using anybody else for their disability case. Once the trial started, Jason opened up his can of whoop a$$, and had me approved and out of court in 15 minutes. I was extremely flabbergasted on how easy Krebs Law Firm made it be. After being approved, the SSA fell into their routine of hurry up and wait attitude. Laura would answer my desperate cries of how bad off I was in needing SSA checks and how depressed I was getting. She was genuinely concerned and made the necessary calls and keeping me up to date on everything. It truly put me at ease. Once the first check arrived, I was so elated that I wanted to jump through the phone and give'm a big kiss. Remarkable, professional, caring, and thorough. Honesty in the beginning, and favorable results in the end. What else can you ask for? I highly recommend Krebs Law Firm, to EVERYONE! Thanks Jason and Laura!! Sincerely, John

I couldn’t be more thankful for Attorney Jason Krebs at Krebs Law Firm. Jason took on my disability case after I was denied and helped me win my disability case. I was under the age of 50 and these are cases that are hard to get approved. But with Jason’s help I am finally able to support myself again! Jason and his staff was always available when I had questions and went above and beyond! I couldn’t be more grateful for their help and highly recommend Jason and his firm for anyone needing help with their disability case! Thank you Krebs Law Firm! Dawn Hayes

My experience with both Jason Krebs and his staff have all been professional and courteous. He always listened to me to understand my situation, answered my questions, and was very thorough and knowledgeable. I would recommend him highly to anyone with a personal injury, workers compensation, or disability claim. He worked very hard to be an advocate for me.

Krebs Law Firm is amazing! There is so much red tape you have to go through to file for SSI, but Krebs made the process easy. When we weren't initially approved from the date of the disability onset, they walked us through filing an appeal that ultimately ensured we won our case. They changed my family's life.

AAL general personal injury Frequently Asked Questions

What is personal injury law?

Personal injury law encompasses legal remedies and defenses involved in civil lawsuits brought as a result of wrongful conduct. It covers situations where someone's negligence or intentional actions cause harm to another person. Personal injury law allows injured individuals to seek compensation for their losses, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. This area of law often involves cases such as car accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, and defective product injuries.

What is compensation for a personal injury claim?

Compensation for a personal injury claim typically includes monetary damages intended to compensate the injured party for their losses. This compensation can cover various aspects such as medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost wages or income, property damage, and pain and suffering. The goal is to provide financial relief to the injured person and help them recover from the physical, emotional, and financial impact of their injuries.

Is emotional distress a personal injury?

Emotional distress can be considered a personal injury under certain circumstances. In legal terms, emotional distress refers to the psychological impact of an injury or traumatic event, such as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While it may not always involve physical harm, emotional distress can still be compensable in a personal injury claim if it can be linked to the defendant's actions or negligence.

What percentage do most personal injury lawyers take?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, which means they only get paid if they successfully recover compensation for their clients. Typically, personal injury lawyers take a percentage of the final settlement or court award as their fee. The percentage varies but commonly ranges from 33% to 40% of the total recovery. This arrangement allows injured individuals to pursue legal action without upfront costs and ensures that attorneys are motivated to achieve favorable outcomes for their clients.

How long does a personal injury lawsuit take?

The duration of a personal injury lawsuit can vary significantly depending on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the extent of the injuries, and the court's schedule. Some cases may be resolved through settlement negotiations relatively quickly, while others may take months or even years to reach a resolution, especially if they go to trial. Additionally, factors such as gathering evidence, conducting discovery, and waiting for medical treatment to conclude can influence the timeline of a personal injury lawsuit.

What is an example of a serious injury claim?

An example of a serious injury claim could involve catastrophic injuries that result in long-term or permanent disabilities, such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries leading to paralysis, severe burns, or limb amputations. These types of injuries often have significant and lasting effects on the victim's physical, emotional, and financial well-being, requiring extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing care. Serious injury claims typically seek substantial compensation to cover these extensive damages and provide for the victim's future needs.

What is compensation for a loss or injury?

Compensation for a loss or injury refers to the financial recovery awarded to an injured party in a legal proceeding. This compensation aims to restore the injured person to the position they were in before the injury occurred to the extent possible. It can include economic damages, such as medical expenses and lost wages, as well as non-economic damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress, and loss of enjoyment of life. The goal of compensation is to help the injured individual recover physically, emotionally, and financially from the consequences of their injury.

What is the highest personal injury settlement?

The highest personal injury settlement or verdict can vary greatly depending on the specific circumstances of the case, including the severity of the injuries, the extent of the damages, and the jurisdiction where the case is tried. Settlements and verdicts in personal injury cases have reached into the tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars in some instances, particularly in cases involving catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, or wrongful death. However, there is no fixed limit on the amount of compensation that can be awarded in a personal injury case, as each case is evaluated based on its unique factors and the applicable laws and precedents.
