I highly recommend Knies, Helland & McPherson. Jenni (Helland) did an amazing job. My ex and her attorney were very antagonistic, liked to draw out the process, and did everything they could to drive up legal fees. Jenni was great in understanding what was happening and the likely outcomes or consequences. She avoided emotional arguments, and instead made sound legal ones. More importantly, she advised me when I was making an emotional decision and gave recommendations on what actions I could take that would be legally successful. Having someone in your corner that was willing to tell you what you needed to hear, instead of what you wanted to hear saved me thousands of dollars. This is not a law firm that will needlessly drive up costs. For example, I was never charged for attorneys fees for anyone Jenni may have consulted with (this is a frequent tactic of less reputable law firms). I was never given a weekly 'update' that created billing hours even if nothing was happening in the case. Jenni never had me make needless discovery requests, subpoenas or motions that are typical and drive up costs. I had a more experienced and higher hourly rate attorney than my ex, but my ex's legal fees were 30% higher because of all the shenanigans they played. Jenni will give you the legal experience you need without driving up costs.

I'm sharing this review for a friend who was poorly represented in a divorce case. "I had an extremely disappointing experience with KHM Attorneys at Law, specifically Reilly Franek. I hired them to handle my divorce case, expecting competent legal guidance and advocacy. Instead, I received little to no effort on my behalf. Communication was poor, my concerns were ignored, and it felt like they were just going through the motions rather than actually fighting for my best interests. Despite paying their fees, they did nothing to strengthen my case, provided minimal legal strategy, and failed to challenge the opposing side effectively. I felt unsupported throughout the entire process, and ultimately, their lack of effort contributed to an unfavorable outcome. If you're looking for a law firm that will actually fight for you, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere."

Do not recommend. I live out of state and I was obviously just easy money. My least paralegal Bek was the only responsive one but rough around the edges. My concerns were not brought up in court. I lost in court and many thousands of dollars in attorney fees. The court decided “what’s in the best interest of the children” but don’t feel my rights were fought for.
