My Experience with Gudeman & Associates I engaged Gudeman & Associates in 2022 for assistance with several legal matters, including a name change and an IRS payment plan. My review is based solely on my honest experience, supported by documented communications and billing records, and is shared here to help others make informed decisions. Billing Issues The initial estimate for the name change was $1,000, per the retainer agreement. However, the final cost exceeded $3,100, and I did not provide written authorization for this increase as required by our agreement. I requested clarification and itemized invoices multiple times, but responses were either delayed or insufficient. Delays in IRS Matters One of my primary concerns was resolving an IRS issue to avoid penalties. Despite my repeated follow-ups emphasizing urgency, progress was delayed due to errors in submissions and miscommunications, resulting in penalties that could have been avoided. Communication Concerns Throughout the engagement, I documented multiple unanswered or delayed responses to my requests for updates, clarification, and billing transparency. This lack of timely communication caused unnecessary stress and confusion. Final Thoughts I believe legal representation should prioritize transparency, diligence, and respect for client directives. While others may have different experiences, mine highlights challenges I faced regarding these values. I encourage potential clients to thoroughly review agreements, maintain clear communication, and ensure transparency in billing practices when selecting legal counsel.

Went to see Ed Gudeman for a Will and Testament. Mr. Gudeman explained about Wills versus Trusts and all the laws surrounding each and what would be best for our situation. We were amazed how much information needs to be collected to use in the trust. It took about 6 weeks to compile everything and then a draft copy was given to us to read and correct any mistakes,errors or changes.
