I called Dan to get a prenup. 1. He spent 75 minutes on the phone recounting prenup basics and legal history (all of which I could've googled) then charged me $487.50. 2. I email asking for next steps. Dan emails me an engagement agreement that said "ADVANCE FEE OF $32,000.00 is due immediately as the fee advance." I tell him this is not what we agreed upon during the call and ask if it was a typo. He responds with something along the lines of 'just sign it'. I decided to use helloprenup instead. I didn't feel comfortable moving forward after this experience.
