In the 1920s, the team was disbanded. It is now home to the independent Pacific Association Vallejo Admirals.

The Zodiac Killer, a serial killer active in Northern California in the 1960s, was known as "The Zodiac Killer". Although he claimed to have killed 37 people, the true number is not known. Three murders that were attributed to Zodiac Killer occurred within the city or near it. The murders were investigated by both the Vallejo Police Department (and the San Francisco Police Department), but neither was able to solve them. In April 2004, the case was declared inactive. However, it was reopened in March 2007. A menu tab on the Vallejo Police Department website provides Zodiac Crime Tips. Additional jurisdictions are also open to the case.
