Paris and Mount Magazine State Park host the Butterfly Festival every June. This festival draws attention to the unique species of butterflies on the mountain. Frontier Days are held in October to celebrate the town's heritage. Around the square, there are entertainment, food concessions, and craft booths. The Amateur Wine Festival is held in July at Cowie Wine Cellars west of Paris. It features amateur winemaking. The festival features music and entertainment, as well as a wine museum where visitors can learn more about winemaking and participate in wine tasting. Paris was home to an 18-foot replica Eiffel Tower, which was dedicated in November 2014. A park was built around it. One of the nineteen locations where Depression-era art can be viewed is the Paris post office. It was established in 1874.

Paris natives have made valuable contributions to many areas of their community. Katharine Susan Anthony was a writer and activist. James Bridges, a Parisian who graduated from Paris High School and Arkansas State University in the 1970s, gained national recognition as a screenwriter/director. His films include The Paper Chase, The China Syndrome, and Urban Cowboy. His work earned him several Oscar nominations. Maury Dexter was the director of several low-budget horror films and worked later on the television series Little House on the Prairie. James Lee Witt was FEMA's director under President Bill Clinton.
