About The Law Offices of Matthew C. Bishop, Inc.

Attorney Matthew Bishop attended Vintage High School, graduating in 1976. After high school, Matt enrolled at Napa Valley College, where he was privileged to serve as a research assistant to Rabbi Leo Trepp. Upon graduation from Napa Valley College with honors, Matt transferred to San Francisco State University, graduating magna cum laude. While attending law school at Golden Gate University, Matt became a summer law clerk for the Napa County Superior Court. In this position, he met J. Clinton Peterson of the prestigious firm of Kilpatrick and Peterson in Vallejo, California. Matt earned a full-time law clerk position at Kilpatrick and Peterson and transferred to Empire College School of Law, where he attended night classes while working full time for Kilpatrick and Peterson. After passing the bar exam on his first attempt, Matt became an associate at Kilpatrick, Kays & Daniels. In 1991, he opened the Law Offices of Matthew C. Bishop, Inc., where he has practiced law ever since. For his entire career, Matt has devoted himself to representing individuals fighting against the government, corporations and local power brokers. Matt believes in the jury system to right wrongs and to help people find their voice where otherwise they are intimidated into silence. While many of his cases are resolved prior to trial, he has found that thorough preparation is the key to getting results. For instance, Matt regularly conducts mock trials, working with retired court personnel and others, to identify the strengths and possible weaknesses in his clients' cases. He frequently works with recognized experts to prove the other party's liability and to establish his client's damages. You have only one chance to make a strong impression to a jury, and he will do everything he can to make the most of it.
