I scheduled a 30-minute consultation with Lynn, and both my employer and I joined a conference call with her. We discussed my need for assistance with an EB-3 visa, my qualifications, and the options available. Since my case was straightforward, Lynn agreed to take it on and assist my employer with sponsoring me. At the end of the call, she requested my employer’s email. My employer carefully spelled it out letter by letter to ensure accuracy. Lynn stated that she would send an email containing the retainer fee details and confirmation that we were moving forward with hiring her. However, we never received the email that day. We followed up with a call but were only able to reach her secretary, who assured us she would pass along the message. After waiting another week with no response, we called again and, once more, only reached her secretary. I explained the situation, emphasizing that Lynn had explicitly told us she would send the email immediately after our call. We were ready to hire her and move forward, yet we spent almost two months trying to get in touch with her after paying the $300 consultation fee. I wish she had been more transparent with us instead of misleading us into thinking she would take our case. If she had decided not to proceed, the least she could have done was inform us or have her secretary relay that message. Ultimately, we ended up hiring another lawyer from Atlanta, who promptly followed up after our conference call with all the necessary details, including the retainer agreement and payment information. Now, I'm finally in the process of my visa application.
