Knowing the Spanish-speaking community of New Jersey needed Spanish-speaking advocates, Luis R. Sanchez took the advice of his father and his uncle, both former attorneys in Cuba, and attended Seton Hall University Law School upon his college graduation. Through law school he clerked for a law firm specializing in personal injury, but he wanted to devote his time and energy to the representation of the Spanish-speaking community. With his fluency in Spanish, he felt that he would best be able to deliver quality legal represention to the community by establishing a law practice in the middle of a heavily Spanish-speaking city. As a result, about two years after graduation, he ventured out on his own and established his practice at 627 Elizabeth Avenue, Elizabeth, New Jersey, dedicated to the general practice of law and the representation of Spanish-speaking clients.
