I've had a very positive experience working with Cynthia Runge who represented me during an extremely contentious and years-long custody case. Cynthia is a keen strategic thinker whose drive and determination never waned. While it might have been easy to be distracted by the legal maneuverings and numerous complaints filed by my ex-spouse, Cynthia kept an eye on the long-term goal and helped me remain focused on what mattered most -- to act in the best interests of my young children. She consolidated matters before the Court and succeeded in having every complaint either dismissed or withdrawn. In this way, we were also able to conserve my resources (financial, emotional, physical). Cynthia is very thorough, and I had confidence going into each court appearance and settlement meeting. More than once, she came across information from unlikely sources that became useful in our legal strategy. There are no guarantees when a case goes through Probate and Family Court. The best outcome should involve some compromise, and I feel the resolution of my case was successful in this way. Some time has passed since I've worked with Cynthia. Looking back, I'm reminded of how painful and emotionally exhaustive the ordeal was: I was the recipient of constant email attacks and behaviors that set out to make me look bad in the eyes of my children and the community (teachers, principals, medical providers, therapists, after-school caregivers, neighbors, parents of school friends, etc.). It was often very difficult to set a good example for my children and not defend myself or disparage my ex-spouse. Yet with Cynthia's guidance, I did it. And it was gratifying when those in the community eventually reached out to tell me so.
