Filing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy was a very tough decision. It was the only way I could keep my house after falling behind on payments and bills, after losing my job following a surgery. Mr. Smith was AMAZING. He made a complicated process (Chapter 7 bankruptcy) SOOOO simple, quick, and easy for us to navigate and complete. He responded to emails and phone calls promptly (even on nights and weekends!), went through the whole process with us step by step (and line by line/page by page, as was the case with our bankruptcy petition), and made certain all our questions and concerns were answered along the way. We never had to meet in person (a plus if you're like us and live in the middle of nowhere, where meeting or coming to the office would be an hours-long drive one way) or even have to mail out any documents; everything was handled either through email or the phone and by use of a scanner, printer, and the internet. He made certain our greatest concern (keeping our car--something we desperately need living where we do and commuting for work every day) was addressed and was able to help us reaffirm the loan to be able to do so. Of particular importance to us (and probably to you, too, if you're filing for bankruptcy) was how affordable he was for the entire process. His overall pricing was not only on the lower end of other bankruptcy attorneys we researched in the area, but he also offered an extremely affordable monthly payment plan to help pay for his services and related court and filing fees. As often as we contacted him throughout the process, we never received an additional bill for his services--something we are so grateful for. The payment plan we had with him was a fraction (think about an eighth!) of what we were paying to our creditors each month to repay our debts before we chose to file. Also, after our bankruptcy discharged, we ended up being harassed by a previous creditor about a discharged debt. Mr. Smith worked with us on a contingency basis to not only stop the harassment, but also negotiated with the creditor for breaching a court order and was able to help us gain some money from the creditor for doing so at no additional cost to us! Overall, we absolutely LOVED working with him and intend to keep him in mind for not only future work if the need ever arises again, but also for anyone else who may be considering bankruptcy and is looking for an affordable, efficient, and competent bankruptcy attorney to help them do so.
