Zero stars is what Graham deserves. My son now has a severe disability after being subjected to abuse, neglect and withheld medication that was enforced by Graham. The impact Graham had on my son’s life was devastating. Graham did not protect my son or protect his interests. He brought my son into a conference room and told him, at 11 years old, that he had to give his Dad something that he wanted otherwise Dad wouldn’t stop. My other son witnessed it and was horrified by Graham forcing an 11 year old to make a decision about an abusive situation. Graham is indecisive, unprepared, apathetic and stretches out cases to over bill. Graham has a very well known reputation of doing back door deals with lawyers he’s personal friends with instead of representing his client’s needs. He needs to be stopped from practicing family law. Milwaukee County should be sued for allowing Graham to be a GAL. It’s negligence at best and in the end, kids under his advise are suffering. Graham’s malfeasance is an injustice that must be addressed.

Christopher MacGillis is quoted by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, calling retired MPD police officers on duty disability as "free loaders". MacGillis does not want "non-plaintiffs" to receive enrichment because they are not part of the original case. Give me a break, did you really just called police officer free loaders, who got injured in the LINE OF DUTY, protecting their community? Please consider the ethics of this company and their approach before engaging in business with this firm. This is why lawyers have a bad reputation, is because they want money and money only.

Chris and his team are beyond professional. They handled my case and looped me in on everything that was going on so I never felt out of touch. Their attention to detail and explanations of the process made it easy for me to understand, and their availability for me to call any time if I had any questions or concerns was amazing. They took all the burden of my case while I could focus on the recovery process and treated me like family. They have my business and every time somebody asks for any kind of representation I look towards them.

Chris was successful with my personal injury case at trial. Working with him was a great experience during a very difficult time for me. Him and his team made the process easy and he did exactly what he said he would do. Him and his partner Lauren were super helpful and communicative the entire time and able to answer any questions that I had. I could always tell he had my best interests in mind and I felt like I was in good hands.

AAL general personal injury Frequently Asked Questions

What is personal injury law?

Personal injury law encompasses legal remedies and defenses involved in civil lawsuits brought as a result of wrongful conduct. It covers situations where someone's negligence or intentional actions cause harm to another person. Personal injury law allows injured individuals to seek compensation for their losses, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. This area of law often involves cases such as car accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, and defective product injuries.

What is compensation for a personal injury claim?

Compensation for a personal injury claim typically includes monetary damages intended to compensate the injured party for their losses. This compensation can cover various aspects such as medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost wages or income, property damage, and pain and suffering. The goal is to provide financial relief to the injured person and help them recover from the physical, emotional, and financial impact of their injuries.

Is emotional distress a personal injury?

Emotional distress can be considered a personal injury under certain circumstances. In legal terms, emotional distress refers to the psychological impact of an injury or traumatic event, such as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While it may not always involve physical harm, emotional distress can still be compensable in a personal injury claim if it can be linked to the defendant's actions or negligence.

What percentage do most personal injury lawyers take?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, which means they only get paid if they successfully recover compensation for their clients. Typically, personal injury lawyers take a percentage of the final settlement or court award as their fee. The percentage varies but commonly ranges from 33% to 40% of the total recovery. This arrangement allows injured individuals to pursue legal action without upfront costs and ensures that attorneys are motivated to achieve favorable outcomes for their clients.

How long does a personal injury lawsuit take?

The duration of a personal injury lawsuit can vary significantly depending on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the extent of the injuries, and the court's schedule. Some cases may be resolved through settlement negotiations relatively quickly, while others may take months or even years to reach a resolution, especially if they go to trial. Additionally, factors such as gathering evidence, conducting discovery, and waiting for medical treatment to conclude can influence the timeline of a personal injury lawsuit.

What is an example of a serious injury claim?

An example of a serious injury claim could involve catastrophic injuries that result in long-term or permanent disabilities, such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries leading to paralysis, severe burns, or limb amputations. These types of injuries often have significant and lasting effects on the victim's physical, emotional, and financial well-being, requiring extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing care. Serious injury claims typically seek substantial compensation to cover these extensive damages and provide for the victim's future needs.

What is compensation for a loss or injury?

Compensation for a loss or injury refers to the financial recovery awarded to an injured party in a legal proceeding. This compensation aims to restore the injured person to the position they were in before the injury occurred to the extent possible. It can include economic damages, such as medical expenses and lost wages, as well as non-economic damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress, and loss of enjoyment of life. The goal of compensation is to help the injured individual recover physically, emotionally, and financially from the consequences of their injury.

What is the highest personal injury settlement?

The highest personal injury settlement or verdict can vary greatly depending on the specific circumstances of the case, including the severity of the injuries, the extent of the damages, and the jurisdiction where the case is tried. Settlements and verdicts in personal injury cases have reached into the tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars in some instances, particularly in cases involving catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, or wrongful death. However, there is no fixed limit on the amount of compensation that can be awarded in a personal injury case, as each case is evaluated based on its unique factors and the applicable laws and precedents.
