About Lucas Ruffing Law

I’m a lifelong Central Ohio resident. I grew up in Delaware and went to Delaware Hayes High School. I played Football and Basketball for Hayes, so I probably played with/against you or someone you know. I attended college at The Ohio State University where I studied Accounting at the Fisher College of Business. I graduated Cum Laude from Business School, and went directly to The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. After graduating law school, I passed the Ohio Bar Exam to become legally licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. Since passing the bar, I have helped defend consumers in a number of cases in which the consumer, like you and me, was getting bullied by a large company. I have also handled a number of criminal cases. From 2014-2017, I was an Attorney at a large Bankruptcy Law Firm in downtown Columbus, Ohio. I have helped more than 1,000 Central Ohio residents file for the Bankruptcy benefits available under Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 of Title 11 of the United States Code. I have attended more than two thousand court hearings at the side of debtors. In January, 2017 I started my own law practice, Lucas Ruffing Law, at which I strive to educate Central Ohio residents about the benefits available under the Federal Bankruptcy Code. I aim to make the bankruptcy process as quick and easy as possible for all my clients. To that end, since I started my own practice in 2017, I have traveled to most of my Columbus area clients so that the process is convenient for them and their families' schedules. I also travel to all my clients outside of Delaware County (and even within Delaware County, if you need it!). The publication “Super Lawyers” has kindly rated me as a “Super Lawyer: Rising Star” for 6 years running (2019 - 2024). Recreationally, you will probably see me around Berliner Park playing softball in the warmer months, playing basketball at Mingo Park in Delaware, or any of the Columbus Rec Facilities, and otherwise enjoying the many activities and festivals Delaware and Columbus offer to us Central Ohio residents.
