Please save yourself significant strife and do not hire anyone who is employed by this firm. Ask other attorneys in the Bay that have worked with this firm and they will tell you that the lawyers here engage in time wasting activities that only serve them. They do not care about their clients and only care about their bottom line. They are not competent. I consulted with Patricia Purcell and Kristine Stewart. Patricia went on to represent my husband despite this being a conflict of interest. She used the information I provided to her during the consultation throughout the case even though my circumstances had changed. I wanted mediation and to minimize cost but this attorney advised my ex-husband to do the most expensive thing possible after fear mongering him into spending money he did not need to spend. She forgot to add assets at the settlement conference and spent a year and more court dates simply to correct her error. I don't know how she convinced my ex-husband to pay for things I offered to do for free. She would lie to him and claim that I refused to do things when I didn't just to make things as contentious as possible - this is a tactic at Lerner Poole and something that has been confirmed by other attorneys and firms. It is in their best interest that you have a contentious divorce and they are unscrupulous and unethical enough to do what they can to make it that way, including to lie about your level of cooperation and make simple tasks as difficult as possible. Patricia Purcell cries in court, has hissy fits and slams down the phone instead of being able to have civilized discussions with opposing counsel, and simply cannot manage having a job with her personal struggles. Find a mediator and advisor that specializing in divorce - how can a lawyer who has no understanding of basic finances advise you on yours?
