There are no words that can define how pleased and thankful I am with the defense received in a case that it was almost impossible to win when falsely being accused of a crime I did not commit. Attorney Mark was very professional, patient, knowledgeable, caring, amazing dedication, and well prepared when representing a client at court. I hope that when you read this review you will have no doubt in your mind that he would do anything and everything on his power to win your case and you reach out to him and ask him to represent you. I don’t trust the other reviews. My experience was ridiculous. I chose him for the perfect five star score. The guy speaks confidently with you in private, makes false promises, but then he can’t get a word out in court if he’s not throwing you under the bus. This guy whisper yelled at me during the preliminary hearing. He completely flipped sides, and chose not to express my concerns with the Judge or object to anything which the prosecutor said. Win or lose he makes his money, and he shrugs. He does not take it seriously. He’s been in law for over four decades. He’s not as eager to win as the new attorneys around. It took him over a year to get absolutely nowhere with the case after countless continuances, wasting my time and money. He’s been yelled at more than twice by a Burbank Judge, so he decided to change the case’s venue to nicer Judge in Pasadena, until his incompetence got him yelled at AGAIN by the different Judge. He never almost never shows up, instead, he has his colleagues substitute for him. He was supposedly representing me for two separate cases, but he never showed up to any of the proceedings in one of the cases, a public defender was asked by the Judge to act as a friend of mine in this attorney’s place. They pitied me for having this guy on the case. He’ll get nothing done that a public defense won’t already do fast and free at the courthouse. He doesn’t even reimburse you after wasting your time. He has an attitude about it too, as if he’s a hot shot trial attorney who never lost a case, but really he takes the money and lets the case take its own course. 1/5 One star because we’re on Google. Minus four stars because it’s melnick defense

I can't recommend Dan highly enough, what a difference-maker he was for me. I was in a very serious case where I wasn't sure how happy I was with my attorney, I spoke to a close friend who recommended Dan, and in short order Dan turned things around and things began to look brighter. I'm so impressed with the seriousness and dedication that Dan showed with me, always there when I needed him, and effective in court because of his sterling reputation. Believe me when I tell you, having an attorney who is dedicated and highly respected makes a difference, in my case all the difference.

Dan was an amazing help in my case! A well experienced lawyer who successfully helped me avoid something terrible, as they were trying to throw the worst at me. With the help of Dan i was able to walk away with the entire case taken off my record as it was reduced from possible time in juvenile hall with a felony on my record, to just 6 months informal probation. Where two very expensive OC lawyers failed, Mark Melnick succeeded! From the very first meeting with Mark, I knew I was in good hands. He was thorough, persistent in my defense, and actively kept me engaged and a part of the process. I was fighting multiple DUI and Possessions charges from a part of my life where I was struggling just to stay alive. Over the course of my time working with Mark I got clean and sober, had a child, moved with my family across the country, and he was there for us every step of the way. My previous lawyer told me the best deal she could get is six months in prison. Mark Melnick proved her wrong. I ended up doing the mandatory 24 hours and that is it! He even helped me get approved to take my DUI classes online from my new home on the East Coast. We feel so blessed to have found Mark Melnick and consider him a friend today.
