Donna is one of the worst lawyers I've ever dealt with, she is extremely unprofessional and out right ghetto. She missed several timely emails with the oppositions lawyer that caused us to lose the opportunity to mediate. She then hits us with a 20k+ in legal fees and said you should just settle and pay them 35k. I would never recommend her or her firm to anyone, unless your looking for an unprofessional and incompetent lawyer. Worst experience in my life and I honestly felt cheated and taken advantage of by someone we paid to fight for us and trusted to represent our best interest.

I don’t have a great opinion of this attorney, whom I hired to help me evict a roommate who stopped paying rent. On the day of trial, Donna was running late. When I texted her, she texted back for me to approach the bailiff to tell him she will be late. He yelled at me in front of everyone that I shouldn’t be approaching him. Wouldn’t she know this could happen, and why put me in that position? She was the only one who arrived late in a packed courtroom. She did not apologize or offer any explanation. Turns out Donna filed in the wrong court even after I emailed her weeks earlier about my concern, thereby forcing me to settle (or start from scratch). The other side had served us form interrogatories, which Donna insisted we comply with. I served them the same plus a request for evidence, and they didn’t comply and faced no repercussions. We were in a position of “trial by ambush” or “settlement by ambush.” What this meant that whatever the other side presented, regardless of validity, we had to take for face value, and there were a lot of questionable evidence and arguments presented that day. I have a feeling a better attorney would not have allowed for this to happen. I’m concerned about the quality of advice she gave me while she pushed through a settlement, as some of the advice she gave me differs from what other attorneys have told me. Negative reviews on yelp say that she comes off as friendly but has this other side to her. I see that. To Donna’s credit, her fees are low, she agreed to take on my specific type of case when pricier lawyers I was referred to wouldn’t (for good reason, my case was indeed complicated), and she spent a very long time on the day of trial hashing out the settlement.

My fiancé used Ms. Pettway for One of his cases and she fought through the end and was the most detailed, professional and attentive attorney we have had thus far! A separate case came up in our family and we didn’t know if she cover that area but we’re so grateful to find out that she did and we are now retaining her services yet again! We highly recommend this woman and her team. Ms Pettway is strong & wise.

Facing eviction is a highly stressful circumstance. I reached out to this office and received no help whatsoever! As I am half way through explaining my situation the person on the other end says "I am really sick and your case sounds really complicated. It's sounds like you need help right away. I can't help you". I would not recommend calling this office at least until the Attorney feels better.
