If you are facing eviction and are short on cash, think it over hard before you pay this firm a dime. Depending on your circumstances, your money may be better spent paid to your landlord. I hired this firm to defend my eviction and now regret it. Did they commit malpractice? I can’t prove that. But did they communicate consistently with me? No. Did they lift a finger on my behalf beyond rote filing of a boilerplate answer to the eviction action? Not so far as I could tell. Did they even ever inform me as to the final outcome of my case? No. Did they even attempt to call opposing counsel to ask if they could get me a better deal? If they did, no one ever told me. The fact is that I had a final judgment of eviction entered within two days of retaining this firm. It was throwing good money after bad to retain them. And if they stopped advocating for me early because I had not paid them the few hundred dollars I owed them, they ought to have told me that too—but they did not. In the end I can’t escape the conclusion that they took my money cynically, knowing from the get go that they would not actually be able to do anything for me.

The initial communication started off great when speaking to Nick regarding my case. After retaining them, I was not able to reach the person I initially spoke with and didn’t know who was actually assigned to assist me. Throughout the process there was very little communication and guidance with next steps regarding the case. I ended up resolving my issues on my own with no guidance from this firm. Please do not waste your money on this firm. I have made several attempts to contact this firm with reassurance that my calls will be returned only to hear from no attorney. The absolute worst firm do not waste your time or money. 4

I have way too many reasons as to why I would never recommend this firm to a sole. For starters they don’t call you back. When I first called I spoke to a gentleman who told me verbatimly their law firm is “no bullshit” in attempts to have me retain them. Completely unprofessional and had me alarmed from the very beginning. Part of why I never paid them a dime. This firm is indeed full of “bullshit”. Lol

Regrettably, my experience with Jacques Kortes was far from satisfactory. Though I had hoped to receive professional and competent legal advice, I was met with impatience and disrespect. Despite many attempts to get in touch, it took over a week for Kortes to return my calls. When we finally spoke, he was dismissive and interrupted me numerous times, failing to gather a complete understanding of my situation. His tone was arrogant and unsympathetic, leaving me feeling unsupported and discouraged. He even promised somone will get back to me as soon as possible, but that is not true. As someone who sought his help during a difficult time, it was disheartening to be treated so poorly. Overall, I would not recommend Jacques Kortes based on this underwhelming experience.

Stole my money and ignored me. I had to open a case with bbb and when they choose to respond with lies had to open a case with higher up and charge them with legal malpractice. Pending case as I just had to recover all my emails that were never responded to. I wouldn’t trust a company that would outright lie but they have met their match. Update will follow shortly
