I began my search for a probate lawyer in Tulsa by looking online. Well this search generated dozens of lawyers and law firms. I chose the first firm listed—the Kania Law Office in Tulsa. Its focus is Family Law which includes Probate Law. I called and spoke to Charles Kania. He introduced me to the firm, gave me a retainer amount I would need pay in order to initiate my representation by his firm. When I paid the retainer, Charles told me that he had assigned my case to Doug Thomas, a lawyer in the firm experienced in probate cases. Doug’s representation of my mother’s probate has been exceptional. He quickly assessed the issues of my case and laid out the best legal course to attain my goals. He discussed his plan and went out of his way to make sure that I understood it. His approach was also helpful because he presented some of the risks posed by family members in opposition to my position and what I hoped to achieve through the legal process. All of the risks he foresaw were experienced over the course of the last year. More importantly, Doug’s strategy for dealing with these issues was prescient. Through his well written court filings he effectively protected my position. The management of my case by the Kania staff has been smooth and without error. It should be mentioned that the Kania Law Office is conveniently situated south of 51st and Lewis with plenty of free parking. The office is comfortable, but not in an ostentatious way. Charles has eschewed snobbish wood paneling for a more efficient and economical look. I have found the firm’s billing practice to be fair. In short, the Kania Law Office, and in particular, Charles Kania and Doug Thomas deserve a “Five Star” designation for providing excellent legal representation at an affordable price.
