It has been several years, but I am still concerned about the representation I received by the Hager Law firm during my divorce and mediation. Overall the attorney I hired was pleasant and she initially appeared to be very experienced and knowledgable; however, I first became concerned when she admitted to having scheduled cognitive testing due to possible memory issues. Subsequently I noted obvious errors on financial documents that were to be provided at mediation. Although the atty agreed that the documents were incorrect and my corrections were right, the documents were still incorrect when we arrived to mediate the following morning. The mediator’s secretary had to reprint the corrected documents so the meeting could begin. In addition, the atty sat quiet for most of the mediation on her laptop. I truly felt as if I was representing myself that day. This was my first and only divorce so I have no comparison, but it is my opinion that I didn’t receive very effective legal representation. I wish I had walked out of the mediation that day and that I had the money then to hire a different atty. I truly hope this information is helpful to others when deciding who would be the best firm to represent them.
