We reached out to Deeley King Pang & Van Etten for assistance with a simple dispute over a severance agreement. Given their reputation and the relatively straightforward nature of the case, we trusted them to handle the matter efficiently and effectively. Unfortunately, over a year later, we are left with an unresolved dispute and the added burden of paying for their services. The initial consultation went smoothly, and Steve King reassured us that our case would be managed promptly. However, as time went on, we encountered a series of issues: Poor Communication: We were disappointed by the lack of initiative from our attorney. Draft letters that were prepared for us were lacking in substance and clarity. At one point, we were informed that a settlement offer had been made, only to later discover that the terms did not align with our agreed goals. Unjustified Costs: Despite the simplicity of the matter, we were billed for many hours of work that seemed unnecessary and unproductive. The breakdown of charges included reading our emails and repeatedly rewriting drafts. Ultimately, after terminating our agreement, we received an additional $200 bill simply to answer a question about how to pay the previous invoice. No Resolution: A year has passed, and the issue remains only partially resolved. This ongoing delay has caused undue stress and financial strain. It is incredibly frustrating to feel misled by a firm that labeled this as a ‘simple case.’ We initially believed Deeley King Pang & Van Etten would provide competent and efficient service, and we were willing to pay for that assurance. However, after over a year and several thousand dollars later, I regretfully cannot recommend their services. If you value clear communication, transparency, and effective legal support, I highly advise looking elsewhere.
