Malcolm L. Copeland is a former prosecutor with over 38 years of experience in DUI and Criminal Defense. He is a lifelong Kansan and his office is located at 2813 SW Westport Plaza Drive in Topeka, Kansas. He represents people accused of DUI’s and Criminal Offenses throughout Northeast Kansas. The cities and towns where he practices include Topeka, Lawrence, Lyndon, Holton, Alma, Emporia, Manhattan, Junction City, Leavenworth, Atchison, and the Kansas City area.
Malcolm L. Copeland is a member of the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Topeka Bar Association, and the Kansas Bar Association. He served as a guardian ad litem and juvenile offender attorney appointed by the Court in the early 1990s. He was appointed by the District Court to defend Defendants facing jail time for contempt citations and represented those accused from 1985-1993. He has been appointed by the Court to defend serious felony cases in State District Court and Federal Court. He has tried numerous jury trials including first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, indecent liberties with a minor, along with numerous misdemeanor jury trials. He has also served as a pro tem Judge in the Municipal Court of Topeka.
