When my sister passed away in March of 2021, I was suddenly faced with the management and disposition of her estate. This was made more difficult because she lived in New Mexico, and I live in Wisconsin. She had named me her Personal Representative in her will. I could have declined the appointment, but I felt an obligation to carry out her wishes. In desperation, I searched for an attorney to represent me in New Mexico, and after looking at reviews, I chose Christie Coleman in Santa Fe. It turned out to be a great choice. Christie kept me informed of the process at every step, and prepared all of the paperwork required by the legal process and presentations to the court, from the creation of a Probate account, to notices to creditors, to several required mailing to beneficiaries, and the final filings with the court that all the terms of the will had been satisfied, and the closing of probate. I was able to focus on the financial side of the estate, from selling my sister's property, to paying bills and taxes, dealing with utilities, and much more. The whole process took about 18 months, but I never had to worry about the legal end of things. Christie emailed me regular invoices for her expenses, and the total legal cost was very reasonable, much less than I had feared, after reading so many horror stories on line. So I highly recommend the law firm of Coleman & Woodward, should you find yourself in the same situation.
