In November 1981, Ron Berg founded The Berg Legal Clinic in Norfolk, Virginia with a single goal in mind: to provide excellent legal services to the people of Hampton Roads for a reasonable fee. Mr. Berg believed that his law firm would be successful if he treated every client with respect and exceeded their expectations with excellent service. Mr. Berg was confident that in keeping fees low for individual clients and by successfully handling their cases, those clients would refer their friends and family to the practice for future business.
Well that simple formula of delivering exceptional legal services for a reasonable price helped The Berg Legal Clinic become a premier Hampton Roads law firm successfully representing clients in Williamsburg, Yorktown, Newport News, Hampton, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Since its founding in 1981, the firm has successfully represented over 135,000 clients in bankruptcy law, family law and estate planning and it has become a trusted member of the Hampton Roads community.
In January 2016, Casey Chmielewski joined the firm after retiring from the Coast Guard with 24 years of service to our country. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Berg invited Mr. Chmielewski to join him as a partner and the firm changed its name to Berg & Chmielewski, PC. Although the name of the firm has changed, the commitment to delivering exceptional legal service at an affordable price remains the same.
