Generally, landlords have the right to do an annual inspection of their property. They can also come in more often, such as seasonally, semi-annually, or quarterly. This is something that is usually outlined in the tenant’s lease. Plus, if there is an issue, landlords can come in to assess and fix the situation. What is important to note is that landlords can never barge into a tenant’s apartment whenever they please. Outside of an emergency situation, landlords must give notice to their tenants that they will be coming into the apartment for inspection.
