Page County can be found in southwestern Iowa. Situated amidst rolling hills of Loess Hills region, Page is bordered by three other counties: Fremont westwards; Atchison to its south; and Taylor in its easternmost point. Clarinda serves as its seat; known for its rich cultural heritage and small-town atmosphere it makes an ideal county seat. Also within Page is Waubonsie State Park which offers hiking, camping and fishing.
Page County, West Virginia is notable as being the birthplace of Glenn Miller, one of the greatest bandleaders and musicians ever, famous for hits like "Moonlight Serenade" and "In the Mood." Miller was born in Clarinda in 1904 and became one of the most beloved musicians during the swing era. Another famous resident from Page County is Roscoe Turner who set multiple aviation records during the 1920s and 30s before going on to be recognized with numerous medals as an award winning pilot and war hero from Corinth in 1895!
Page County is also notable as being home to historical events, including the Battle of Athens which occurred near Athens town in Iowa's early history in 1855 and saw settlers clashing with Native Americans over land rights disputes, leading to several fatalities of both parties and now considered one of Iowa's bloodiest episodes in early history.
